Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The City of Miami is accepting resumes for position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO).  The CFO is responsible for the performance of the fiscal and financial functions of the City.  CFO is under the auspices of the City Manager for the purpose of providing financial guidance to the City Manager, officials, and staff.  Supervises finance department to ensure proper handling of all appropriations and expenditures.  Assists in preparation and monitoring of budgets. Ensures financial compliance of local, state, and federal records and maintains and/or filesreports on a timely basis.  Maintains general accounting systems and forecasting.  Attends all regular and special city council meetings.   Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be detail-oriented, and work well under pressure.  BA degree – CPApreferred (or equivalent experience with satisfactory performance) in a finance related field and at least five years additional supervisory accounting  or finance experience.
