Introducing our ACTING PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR / Assistant to the City Manager - Economic Development
Jill Fitzgibbon currently holds the position of acting public works director/assistant to the City manager - economic development. Mrs. Fitzgibbon began working for the City on September 27, 1999. She possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Missouri Southern State University of Joplin, Missouri. In 2007, she completed the Oklahoma Municipal league Certified Municipal Official program. Jill has comparative experience in this role since 1995. JOB SUMMARY: The public works director is responsible for directing the entire operation of the public works department. This includes street construction, maintenance and repair, assuring efficient and timely disposal of all solid waste materials delivered to the transfer station facility including daily collection of all residential and commercial waste, curbside recycling, maintenance of parks, cemetery, library, civic center and fleet garage. This position is also responsible for sports activities, municipal pool, events, fairgrounds and summer recreation program.

Kim Horn has been employed by the City of Miami since September of 2001. She began working for the City as a customer service representative in the utility billing office. In April of 2005, she became the office manager at the solid waste division. Kim grew up in Welch, Oklahoma and graduated from NEO. Kim and her husband Kevin, who is also a City employee, have been married for ten years and are the parents of one daughter, Caiti. |
