| SOME VIOLATIONS REQUIRE AN APPEARANCE IN COURT, while others may be resolved simply by paying a fine instead of appearing - A complete list of payable offenses is available by accessing a fine schedule. APPEAR ON THE APPOINTED DATE AND TIME - the judge cannot speak to you about your case except when it is being heard in open court. SIGN IN WITH THE COURT CLERK BEFORE ENTERING COURTROOM - this is to document your appearance and to make sure your case is on the docket. BE SEATED UNTIL YOUR NAME IS CALLED - when your name is called, step forward to stand before the Judge. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK AND BE REPRESENTED BY LEGAL COUNSEL - the judge or staff cannot give you legal advice or recommendations on what you should do WHEN YOU COME TO COURT: dress as professionally as possible - clothes neat and clean and without holes [no shorts, tank tops, halter tops or bathing suits]; you must remove your hat or cap when you enter the courtroom; no eating or drinking in the courtroom. All cell phones must be turned off. JUVENILES required to appear with parent or guardian. * * Parent/guardian will stand before judge with juvenile, when name is called.
