| The Miami Fire Department
exists to serve the citizens of Miami. Our primary way of achieving this
is by providing fire and rescue services in a manner that will retain
the support and confidence of our citizens. We will strive for their
approval by using principles of quality service and customer satisfaction
at every opportunity. We will seek a team approach to the organizational and personal relationships within our department emphasizing that each member is an important component of our team thus deserving of attention, respect, and consideration. We will deal with each other and the public in the manner of the golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." The Miami Fire Department will protect the citizens and their property from destruction by fire or conflagration and provide rescue service. We will accomplish this mission by responding to and providing services at: fire emergencies, medical emergencies, hazardous material emergencies, rescue emergencies, salvage emergencies, and such other emergencies as we can be of service in helping or preventing harm to our citizens. In addition to these emergency responses, we will provide these fire prevention services: inspection, education, and investigation. In providing our services, we will strive to perform without accident or injury, within established procedures, without mistake or error, without delay, without valid complaints, without valid grievances, in a courteous manner, and within the budget. |
